AC Shadows Introduces Surprising AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a unexpected collaboration that defies usual forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the formal release, "An unusual confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome transformations resonate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret sect.
The adventure focuses on "strange experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Metamorphoses
The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an unique katana alongside numerous items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Update
This release also introduces the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
